Isabelle's friends...
Early in the process of adopting Isabelle, we got involved in several "support groups." One of those groups is made up of other families in the Puget Sound region who are parents to children from China. Every few weeks that group gets together to enjoy each other's company, see how the children are doing, and swap stories. Tonight the group met at the Mandarin Garden restaurant in Issaquah...and it was a great experience. It's always fun to see how the children are growing and developing, and to hear how the other adoptive parents are dealing with the many issues we all face. But most of all it's an opportunity for these little children to see other families in the same situation; most notably beautiful Asian children with mostly pasty-white parents. And the smiles on their faces are priceless. Here are just a few of the pictures.
