There is an old cliché that says “When one door closes, another opens.” Well, we are proof of that. In 2005 we moved to Seattle when Bill accepted a job with Washington Mutual Bank. It was a great opportunity for Bill professionally, and an exciting adventure for all of us. But late last year, WaMu became the largest bank failure in the history of our country. And shortly after JPMorgan Chase purchased most of WaMu’s assets from the FDIC for pennies on the dollar, we were notified that Bill’s function was one of many to be eliminated in the consolidation of the two banks.Fortunately Bill’s expertise is in a function that all banks are required by law to have, and he was quickly able to get the attention of several potential employers. Unfortunately, since WaMu was the only major bank headquartered in the Puget Sound area, all of the opportunities would require relocation. And after much thought and prayer, Bill accepted a position with a regional bank headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama.
You read that right. Our family will be moving to Alabama! And we firmly believe that this next chapter in our life goes beyond a cliché. We acknowledge the fact that we are being led by divine guidance. Through a series of events too personal to share on a blog, we recognize the hand of our Heavenly Father leading us to the deep south. We’re not sure why, and we are really struggling with being even farther away from our families. But we have faith that this will be yet another experience that will help us all grow.
Stay tuned for more. And pretty soon we’ll be speaking with a southern drawl!

I hate to even read this because I know the time is coming.... I know that He is watching over you and there is a reason we all come into lives for a time and then move on.... I can't even begin to tell you how much we will miss you..... I can't even think about it right now "[
