America's Favorite Pastime...

Last night we took our family to a baseball game. Anyone who knows us knows how much we loved to go to a Mariner games in Seattle. Even though they were never a great team they were our team and it was always a good time. So when we moved from Seattle to Birmingham, our only baseball option went from Major League, the Mariners, to AA Baseball, the Birmingham Barons. The good news is it was sooo much cheaper to take our family out for a night of fun!!! The bad news it was like watching little league baseball compared to what we are used to. The good news, it was still a lot of fun for our family and more bad news the Barons stink like the Mariners.

It was a humid night and at the bottom of the second inning the tornado sirens starting going off. Our family was alarmed and started looking around for the nearest exit, but we were the only ones. No one else even reacted to the sirens. They are so used to them that it was like they didn’t even hear them. The only sign that let us know we weren’t just hearing things the others weren’t, is when a message came across the score board telling everyone one the tornado warning was for Jefferson County and SHOULD NOT affect us. Our question…then why was the tornado siren going off if it wasn’t going to affect us? And the verbiage SHOULD NOT did not leave us warm, fuzzy and confidant.

Everything ended up ok, no tornados, the Barons were losing like 12-2 when we left in the 7th inning. It was a fun night!

The Barons mascot freaked Isabelle out!
